RuPaul’s Fashion changing the world’s perspective

It's really common for people to think fashion is shallow, and doesn't have real meaning in terms of knowledge and society. But that notion is completely inaccurate.

RuPaul's Drag Race features one of the most liberal and innovative fashion. It makes a new and crucial statement in every episode. There are a lot of things that can be improved and changed with a simple statement or demonstration of willful opinion through clothes. The great and unique thing about clothing is that its power comes from allowing people to make such strong declarations is the fact that word are not needed. As they say "An action is worth more than a million words."

A lot of people all around the world defend the idea that fashion is not really necessary in the daily life, that it is just something extra that would be immediately cut in emergency situations. But if you reflect about it, fashion is indispensable for emotional and psychological well-being. It makes people feel in control, with good self-steam and they can portray themselves as they want, feeling good about who they are and not needing to defend their personalities and personas.

In the reality show, each challenge is about a new thing and the participants can create something that represents themselves and what they want to portray. Something that leaves an important statement for humanity. In season 11 Nina West in the transformation challenge walked through the runway with Shuga Cain in outfits that were homage to the LGBTQ flag and the Trans flag. Sasha Velour also used an amazing ensemble in season 9 doing homage to the LGBTQ community, the outfit was intellectual and smart that can make people and the world think. Big part of the huge meaning of this reality show, is that it shows how each one can create things that make them feel safe and their authentic selves. And that's what this show provides to them and the world.

It's important to remember that you can always see something from a different point of view, the change in perspective is mandatory especially in the world's current situation. So before judging fashion and reality shows, people could keep their minds open and evaluate the whole circumstances from different perspectives, and then we, the population would have a positive chance to see real change and improvement.
